Vocadira

One word. One clear next step.

Vocadira is a self-initiated web application for Italian speakers who want to build their English vocabulary. Its starting point is a small action: discover a word, try to recall its meaning and decide how familiar it feels.

The interface makes that sequence the main route into the experience. A visitor can begin without creating an account or configuring a study plan. Dictionary features and additional tools remain available for a deeper session.

Discovery that leads into review

The app selects a word from its vocabulary catalogue, avoiding entries already saved by the learner. Someone can listen to the pronunciation, reveal the Italian meaning or request another word without adding the current one to their reviews.

After the learner rates their recall, the word enters a spaced repetition schedule. When they return, words due for review take priority. The next review time adapts to their answers, giving difficult words more frequent attention.

The design keeps discovery, recall and review connected through clear actions and a focused word card. The emphasis is on making the next interaction understandable.

A landing page that demonstrates the experience

The headline, “Una parola nuova. Un piccolo passo.”, introduces the idea in the audience’s own language. A sample vocabulary card lets visitors try revealing a meaning before opening the app; a nearby note explains that this small demo does not save progress.

Large typography, a light background and violet accents establish a calm visual hierarchy. The primary action leads directly into learning, while three short steps explain what follows. This structure reflects the approach in my homepage content checklist: introduce the offer, show how it works and make the next step easy to find.

Progress with a clear home

Study progress is stored in the browser using IndexedDB. Learners can export a backup from Settings and import it on another device; progress is not automatically synchronized between browsers. Explaining this alongside the account-free experience helps people understand how to keep their work.

The app also provides optional English dictionary details through Free Dictionary API. Its core learning interface brings content, interaction and local data into one front-end experience.
